Clocks that Don't Tell Time

I'm sitting here with nothing but the sound of rain on the roof top... odd for it to be so quiet, but I'm happy to know the garden is getting watered. Everyone's in bed but me which seldom happens. I've been working on a secret present for Jake's 30th birthday (coming very soon), but my hands are tired so I'm taking a break.

I'm sorry to have disappeared from blog land for a spell. We've had many visitors of late, which seems to be the norm this time of year. I've been lucky to get to catch up with a number of good friends in the last few weeks, some in person, some by phone, and a couple have sent me some good old fashioned snail mail.

(I should really count the number of clocks in our house that don't actually tell time. )

Miss Oona gets as excited about letters in the mail as I do!

"Mama, take my picture of my hands holding the tea pot."
So, I actually have been sneaking in bits of crafting... now to sneak in time to photograph what I've made. I'm hoping to have some more regular updates this coming week of what's been going on in my making world.

Catching up on 3 months

I meant to post something last week, but time has been flying. Miss Elsa is now 3 months. And just so this busy mommy doesn't forget all the amazing things she does, let me indulge myself with another list (yes, you can expect one every month).

- Clearly, the girl can drive a car... well, with a little help from Daddies legs.
- She can roll over from her belly and is getting awful close to doing it from her back.
- She is suffering from a bit of colic (hoping to figure out what's causing that soon)... not really an amazing baby trick, but worth noting.
- Loves grabbing and chewing on things... she has an extra strong grip on my hair.
- Loves to be outside, my little tree fairy.
- Loves music (how could she not?)
- Makes delighted coos that are on the verge of laughter.
- She seems to be taking careful notes of everything big sister says and does.
- She's a super detective tracking things with her eyes.
- Has started to grow fond of some of her toys.

Ok, is that not an extremely adorable driving baby photo?! I won't show you the one with her famous frown because it's too heartbreaking.

Summer Birthday

A little girl we know just celebrated her fourth birthday and I actually managed to find my way to the sewing machine. I've also been crocheting like crazy. The star dream catcher was also for her.  As I've said before, crochet is the only thing Elsa will let me do while she's awake because I can sit next to her while I do it, and occasionally give her a yarn ball to play with (my little kitty).

The flower around the package is a felt flower headband. It was originally suppose to be a necklace for the shop, but I couldn't resist the cuteness of having a headband around the present.

House of Dreams

After a bit of time spent in dismal fog and dismay, the Wildwood's have returned to their natural state of day dreaming. We are hatching plans, too many to count. Maybe we'll tidy the porch, maybe we'll tend the garden, maybe we'll go on a mini holiday, maybe we'll build something grand...

Love this bit of inspiration. If you have 48 minutes to kill and want to watch something about building a timber/ straw bale house, have a watch. I'm not saying we're going to build a house, it's just a nice place to go in fantasy land. We've been addicted to watching "Grand Designs" on YouTube, and this is by far the best episode.

What lives in your house of dreams?
