Recently I came across this blog entry about dry brushing while searching the archives of "this brown wren". (It's an old post, so sadly the give away has long since past.) Basically, you use a natural fiber brush made specifically for dry brushing and brush your skin using a circular motion. Besides helping to make your skin softer, it also helps circulation and helps your body to release toxins. I came across a brush at our natural foods coop and decided to give it a try. There is a separate brush that you need to use for more delicate skin areas, such as the face. You should always shower after dry brushing.
I've only been doing it for a week, but it feels kind of nice. It sort of wakes the skin up. It takes me three to five minutes.
